The AOC Saint-Véran is one of the great Burgundy wines. It is a white wine produced on a vineyard of 665 hectares, whose production reaches 39,000 hl/year. It is located to the north, west and south of that of Pouilly-Fuissé, on sloping, mainly limestone and marl-limestone soils with shallow brown soils.
This terroir is very favorable to the production of great wines for laying down from the Chardonnay grape variety. In the northern part of the vineyard, the wines are generally round and to be drunk fairly quickly, whereas in the southern part, they are considered to be more austere and therefore deserve to be kept in the cellar.
With a very clear and brilliant yellow color, they exhale aromas of fruit, white flowers, even almond, hazelnut and cinnamon for those who can age. On the palate, they are dry and round, and often present a certain minerality.
