The Côtes de Duras vineyard is one of the three AOC in Lot-et-Garonne. It borders the appellations Entre-Deux-Mers, Sainte-Foy-Bordeaux and Bergerac. About a hundred kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean, the Duras vineyard is under the influence of the oceanic climate. It benefits from a less rainy and generally warmer weather than its Bordeaux neighbor, which allows the wines to blossom in the best conditions. This AOC produces 2 styles of white wine:
The dry whites of the Côtes Duras are made from 7 grape varieties. The famous Sauvignon, Semillon and Muscadelle grapes give them all their typicity.
The sweet whites are made from 7 grape varieties. Predominantly Semillon, these more syrupy wines give off aromas of candied fruits.
