Açores

The Açores are a group of Portuguese islands, located at the western end of the European Union in the North Atlantic Ocean. Its oceanic climate is very humid and generally temperate with fairly low annual variations, with maximum temperatures generally between 15℃ and 25℃.

These islands of Portugal between the volcano and the ocean, make their own wine, especially to be consumed on the spot, there are very few elsewhere, the wines produced are Biscoitos, Graciosa, and Pico.

Pico is a sweet wine that owes its survival to an American grape variety, isabella. 

The Graciosa, is the northernmost of the five islands that form the central group of the archipelago. The wine of Graciosa, is made from the original verdelho grape variety, with the addition of other varieties, the white wines produced on this island are part of the local gastronomy. 

The Biscoitos is superb, with slopes that descend to the sea, the vines are planted in small enclosures called curraletas, surrounded by stone walls. The vines run on the pebbles that store the sun to give back a beneficial heat to the verdelho, an old grape variety native to Madeira, vinified in dry or sweet white wines.
