The Colchagua Valley is one of the promising regions of South America, with its full-bodied red wines that are gaining notoriety. In the Rapel Valley in central Chile, the Colchagua region forms a 30-kilometer corridor framed to the north and south by the foothills of the Andes. The climate is ideal for viticulture: the heat is tempered by Pacific and Andean mountain breezes, the drought is mitigated by rivers and rainfall, and the differences in temperature between day and night produce wines with firm tannins and intense aromas.
Thanks to the clay soils mixed with fertile alluvium, the Colchagua region produces high quality Merlot. The Cabernet Sauvignon is the most common grape variety, which allows the elaboration of wines with a pleasant fruitiness and controlled acidity.
