The Côte de Beaune is located in the Côte-d'Or region, barely 20 kilometers from the Côte-de-Nuits between Ladoix-Serrigny and the Maranges hillside. Its vineyard covers 30 ha and produces 164,200 hl of wine every year. However, the Côte de Beaune differs from its neighbor by producing softer red wines.
Almost all the appellations of the Côte de Beaune, 29 in all, produce red and white wines. Only the AOC Volnay and Pommard produce only red wines.
The Côte de Beaune has eight Grands Crus, only one red, the Corton. The Côte de Beaune also has many Premiers Crus such as Meursault or Côte-de-Beaune-Villages. In short, this region is today considered the star of wines in the world.
