Dealu Mare (the big hill, in Romanian) is the most famous wine region in Romania; located about 100 km north-east of Bucharest, it stretches along the Carpathian Mountains, over a distance of 60 km.
Stony soils on a limestone matrix, a continental climate, cold in winter, but abundantly sunny during the growing season, and the help of the wind to cleanse the vegetation, everything here contributes to the success of the vine.
Especially in red - even if some areas also lend themselves very well in white, as here in Sahateni.
