Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

Corton-Charlemagne is the only vineyard in Burgundy bearing the names of two emperors: Curtis of Othon, Emperor of Over the Rhine, who gave Courthon and then Corton, to which Carolus Magnus, Charlemagne, followed.

Located on the emblematic "Colline des Cortons", this Grand Cru established the international fame of the hill. The "Hill" or "Mountain of Cortons" is a true mosaic of styles and soils, consisting of some 500 hectares of vines planted with Chardonnay.

It brings together the villages of Ladoix-Serrigny, Aloxe-Corton and Pernand- Vergelesses, between the Côte des Pierres and Savigny-lès-Beaune. The vineyard lies between 250 and 330 meters above sea level, forming an amphitheater without any other example in the Côte. The Corton-Charlemagne are white wines of a beautiful green gold and reach their fullness after five to ten years of cellaring. On the nose, aromas of fresh nuts give way to a full and generous body, often served by barrel ageing. This also gives them a few honeyed turns in their youth, even dried or exotic fruits.
