The Gaillac AOC extends to the north-east of Toulouse over a wine-growing area of 3,900 hectares well distributed around Gaillac, on either side of the Tarn.
Mainly due to the variety of soils and particular climatic conditions, the appellation offers a very complete range of wines. Located at the eastern limit of the Aquitaine Basin, the Gaillac vineyard benefits from a microclimate characterized by oceanic mildness during the year and little rainfall in summer and autumn.
The red wines that are now in the majority are very varied and contain very good vintages. The full-bodied, warm wines, with a powerful nose and a deep robe, best reflect the typicity of the Gaillac terroirs.
