The vineyards of Côtes-de-Saint-Mont are spread over 46 communes in the south-east of the Gers department. It takes its name and origin from a Benedictine abbey founded in the 11 th century on the road to Santiago de Compostela.
Installed on the slopes of the Pyrenean Piedmont, the vines occupy the best locations. Subjected to a humid oceanic climate, they benefit from a hot and dry summer and early autumn. The Saint-Mont region favours the autochthonous grape varieties for its white wines, the gros manseng, which is always combined with arrufiac and petit courbu.
