The appellation area of the AOC Anjou extends over 128 communes of Maine-et-Loire, 14 of Deux-Sèvres and 9 of Vienne. The total surface area of the Anjou vineyard is 1,100 hectares and includes two distinct regions: Anjou Noir and Anjou Blanc. The climate is of temperate oceanic type, but rather dry, with small temperature differences.
The grape varieties used for Anjou wines are Chenin, at least 80%, Sauvignon and Chardonnay, which give the wine its deep golden yellow color. Fresh and aromatic, they are floral and spring-like. Sometimes, they surprise by their richness and mineral opulence.
