The AOC Quarts-de-Chaume comes from the AOC Coteaux-du-Layon. It is a communal appellation produced from the Chenin grape variety in a small part of the commune of Rochefort-sur-Loire on the right bank of the Layon.
This vineyard thus benefits from the Anjou Noir soils of the Coteaux-du-Layon appellation area, and a mesoclimate that favours the establishment of noble rot. Harvested according to local customs, these exceptional sweet white wines are only produced in very small quantities, about 800 hectoliters.
The robe is pale and then evolves to old gold. On the nose, they are powerful and complex, and on the palate, opulent, with a remarkable smoothness. A perfectly balanced structure, between smoothness and vivacity, makes these wines very good to keep.
