The vineyard of Saint-Pourçain, one of the two Auvergne vineyards, is relatively out of the way of the other vineyards in France. Indeed, Saint-Pourçain depends on the Loire Valley vineyard, whose closest appellation is about 150 km away. It is an omnipresent viticulture, which has been able to evolve with its time, thanks to a unique dynamic, a specific terroir and a real know-how. There are only 17 producers and a cooperative cellar covering the 640 hectares of the appellation.
The appellation is spread over 19 communes, on three main types of soil. The white wines of the AOC Saint-Pourçain are strongly typified. Their particularity: the original blend of Chardonnay and Tressallier, to which can be added Sauvignon.
