The AOC Valençay is located at the crossroads of Berry, Sologne and Touraine, on a wine-growing landscape of medium slopes. Its annual production reaches 71,000 hectoliters. This terroir is more dominated by a continental climate, and is only influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. The distribution of the production of the wines is : 60% are reds mainly from pinot noir and gamay which find on the flint soils excellent conditions of maturation; 30% are whites, and 10% are rosés.
The red wines are light and supple and go very well with cold meats. They can be kept for up to 3 years.
