The Côtes-d'Auvergne is an AOC wine from the Puy-de-Dome since 2011, grown from Riom to Issoire via Clermont-Ferrand, between the Chaine des Puys and the river Allier.
The marly-limestone and volcanic soils give the wines a very marked character. At an altitude of 400 m, the vineyard is characterized by a strong annual thermal amplitude, with a hot and stormy summer and a cold and dry winter.
The red grape varieties are gamay noir with white juice and pinot noir conferring aromas of ripe fruits. For the whites, only one grape variety is allowed: Chardonnay which makes very aromatic fruity wines with aniseed, pear and exotic fruit aromas.
