In 1988, the commune of Régnié-Durette became the tenth cru of the Beaujolais. Its location on the road leading to the Loire Valley had allowed it to sell its wines as far as Paris as early as the 18th century. The vineyard covers granitic hilltops to the north of the Brouilly mountain. Implanted on early terroirs, oriented north-west-south-east, and on often light soils, Gamay produces very fruity wines, combining finesse and good constitution.
