The AOC Collioure extends over the communes of Collioure, Banyuls, Cerbère and Port-Vendres, over an area of 615 hectares. This appellation produces about 19,000 hectoliters of wine per year, declined in reds and rosés (2/3 red).
The Mediterranean climate gives a remarkable sunshine with a maritime influence which creates an ideal microclimate for the development of the vine. The red wines are the result of a harmonious blend of grenache noir, syrah and mourvèdre. They can also be complemented with carignan and cinsault. Red Collioure are fleshy wines with spicy and ripe fruit aromas, to which Grenache Noir brings power and warmth.
