Crémant d'Alsace is an AOC of Alsace. It is sparkling, light, fruity and elaborated mainly from the pinot blanc grape variety but the winegrower can, without any constraint of proportion, blend it with pinot gris, pinot noir, riesling, auxerrois or chardonnay provided that they come from the Alsace production area. Its method of elaboration is identical to that of Champagne.
The Crémant d'Alsace is served in flutes at a temperature of 5 to 7°. The quality criteria are the same as those of Champagne. In other words, there is something for every taste, sometimes a blend. One can rely, as for any sparkling wine, on the density and quality of the bubbles but also on the label. If the grape variety is mentioned, the bottle is elaborated 100% with this grape. Other mentions may specify Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs, Brut, Millésimé, Rosé or Sigillé.
