If Alsace wines are essentially famous for their whites like Riesling, the terroir also offers unique rosés - including Crémants.
One would think that the rosé is made by pressing white and black grapes, and that this mixture then gives the rosé its color. But in reality, as with red wines, rosé is obtained only from black grapes! Alsace Rosés are thus made from a single grape variety: Pinot Noir.
However, to obtain a Rosé d'Alsace, it is necessary to reduce the time of maceration compared to that which is of setting for the Pinot Noir. This much shorter duration for the Rosé d'Alsace will give the wine its specific characteristics, which makes it very different from the Pinot Noir.
Light and refreshing, the Rosé d'Alsace is above all a wine to be drunk young. Very aromatic, with its notes of red fruits. Its joyful character and freshness make it an ideal wine for summer, on the terrace, for a convivial moment to share with friends or family.
