To the northwest of the Entre-deux-Mers plateau, on the left bank of the Dordogne, Vayres is famous for its imposing Renaissance castle overlooking the river.
Its terroir is made up of patches of gravel and sand, forming pebble-covered terraces. The white wines of Graves-de-vayres, which used to be sweet, are nowadays essentially dry. They are close to the entre-deux-mers.
