This Côte-de-beaune-villages appellation only applies to red wines produced in fourteen AOCs of the Côte de Beaune, located between Ladoix-Serrigny and the Maranges, with the exception of the Premier Crus. It is a variant of the communal appellations. The appellations beaune, aloxe-corton, pommard and volnay are not concerned by these regulations. The wines, which may be made from blends from the different communes, are generally supple and light in the north of the AOC, firmer and more colorful in the south.
