The appellation Vin de Corse is one of the largest on this Isle of Beauty. But beware, here it is the local wines that take the largest share of production. The vines grow in a sumptuous environment and enjoy different terroirs whether it is west, east, north or south.
The grape varieties are typically Corsican, the vermentinu, the niellucio, the sciacarello, the barbarossa, but also some of the best known such as the mourvèdre and the grenache for example.
The appellation wine of Corsica can be followed by several geographical denominations: Cap Corse, Sartène, Figari, Porto-Vecchio and Calvi.
