The region of Salta is isolated in the foothills of the Andes, more than 1000 kilometers from Mendoza. The vineyards are mainly planted in the Calchaquíes valleys, the region of the small town of Cafayate. They are cultivated on high ground, between 1700 and 3100 meters above sea level, making them the highest vineyards in the world.
This extreme climate produces very pure and concentrated wines, representative of their unique terroir. The mountains of Salta protect the vines from rainfall and provide natural irrigation from melting snow. The coolness of the high altitude moderates the heat at this latitude, close to the equator.
The Torrontés has a prominent place in the viticulture of Salta. This light and aromatic white grape variety offers white wines with intense fruity and floral aromas, reasonable body and medium acidity.
