"the 2017 vintage has generated climatic records that have resulted in a particularly early harvest with the beginning of the harvest on august 18 for our white grape varieties. it is also one of the smallest harvests of the last forty years, with average yields of 19 hl/ha, due to a large melting phenomenon combined with a water deficit throughout the year. despite these extreme climatic conditions, our old vines have reacted surprisingly well and have not suffered so much, allowing to produce balanced wines, with silky tannins and with a very nice definition of the fruit. sandy soils composed of surface rolled pebbles and ground saffron, located inside the «clos». terroir very close to the place called ""les cassanets"", plot composing the cuvée les quartz châteauneuf-du-pape. 85% grenache - 15% syrah manual harvest with sorting at the vine then in the cellar. 100% eraflage, then fermentation in concrete vats by indigenous yeasts. reassembly, manual pigging and shedding are carried out throughout the maceration of the grapes (from 28 to 31 days). harvest begins on august 29 for syrah and on september 12 for grenache. in truncated vats for grenache and half muids for syrah, for 13 months. this wine has a very pretty red dress of andrinople with carmine reflections. the nose is magnificent on aromas of wood fruits, dominated by wild blackberry and raspberry, all accompanied by spicy notes of wild badian and thyme in bloom. the mouth is complex with a superb length, dominated by notes of liquorice and zan with violet."
