deep mocha and cedar notes mark the nose of the 2015 paragon malbec, which comes from a separate vineyard and hence cannot be bottled under the name of the chateau. the new wood notes are backed by super ripe—maybe even a touch overripe—black cherries and a strong licorice component. the wine is full-bodied and velvety in feel, with a long finish, so if you can tolerate hints of dried fruit and elevated alcohol levels, you may like this even more than this taster.
