vega sicilia is one of the most prestigious wineries in spain, located in the ribera del duero region. the winery has a long history, dating back to 1864, and is known for producing some of the finest wines in spain. valbuena is an elegant red wine with denominación de origen ribera del duero, made from tinto fino (tempranillo) and cabernet sauvignon grapes in a greater or lesser extent depending on the vintage. the grapes are grown in plots located on gentle concave slopes with soils of a deep calcic horizon. its production methods remain unchanged, and it is each year's weather factors that mark the differences between harvests. vega sicilia is a most prestigious winery in spain that was acquired in 1982 by the álvarez family. since then, it has enjoyed a steady growth thanks in part to the addition of new wines produced in different wine-making area
