the two vintages are quite different: 2012 was warm and dry, and 2013 was much cooler, but also in 2013 they sourced their grapes from marchigue in colchagua, a windy zone, which might have had an even more important impact in the wine. they do everything by hand, from harvesting to labeling, and even the destemming of the grapes is done by hand. the 2013 mw has a more open color and some orange around the edge and a more austere nose, with bright berries and nice spiciness. the palate is more fluid than 2012, with a finer texture, somehow marked by the oak with some toasted and creamy flavors in the finish. it should benefit from some time in the bottle. this 2013 is more in the line of what they want to do. 6,323 bottles produced.
