ojai is a boutique winery located in the town of ojai in california. the winery was founded in 1983 by adam tolmach and his wife. the focus of the winery is on producing small quantities of high-quality wines using traditional methods and minimal intervention. the grapes used in their wines are sourced from some of the best vineyards in california, including bien nacido and john sebastiano. ojai bien nacido syrah 2013 is a red wine made from syrah grapes grown in the bien nacido vineyard, which is located in the santa maria valley ava in california. the wine has a deep purple color with aromas of blackberry, blueberry, and black pepper on the nose. on the palate, the wine is full-bodied with flavors of black cherry, black currant, and hints of smoked meat and spice. the tannins are firm, yet well-integrated, and the finish is long and lingering. this wine can be aged for several years and will continue to develop in the bottle.
