in argentina, the altitude of the vineyards plays a decisive role in the quality of the grapes produced. in the province of mendoza, the vineyards of the uco valley are located in the foothills of the andes, at the foot of the tupungato volcano, which marks the border with chile. the vineyards are mainly from malbec, a variety of grapes imported from the south-west of france, planted in cahors at "only" 300 m altitude, which has flourished on the slopes of the cordillera exceptionally. indeed, at more than 1000m altitude and with the help of particularly cool nights, the grape ripens slowly and preserves an acidity essential for the balance and delicacy of great argentine wines, which are still subjected to extreme heat, even in the mountains. the malbec serbal 2018, varietal, clean and fresh, has a very accessible profile, with fruity aromas, violets and wild berries, lightly sprayed to preserve the fruit and with a soft and polished palate.
