riccitelli is located in the highest area of the traditional luján de cuyo, the foothills of mendoza. it is the area delimited to the south by the mendoza river, to the east by vistalba and to the north by chacras de coria. small terroir between 1000 and 1100 meters above sea level, where we manage 16 hectares of plantations from the early twentieth century (between 1927 and 1930). this altitude provides us with cold nights and thermal amplitudes ideal for maintaining natural acidity and freshness in grapes. the soils are of alluvial origin, with a sandy and clayey texture of 1 to 2 meters sustained by a subsoil of gravel and pebbles that sometimes surface. we continue to use furrow irrigation. malbec adapts exceptionally to these soils of good permeability, where its roots are nailed in the boulders and reach great depths. our old vines regulate their yields naturally, giving wines of great concentration. its people have passed from generation to generation the knowledge and passion of the work in the vineyard, in this traditional place is where the winery is located and where we elaborate our malbec republic.
