the pink peyre 2002 coteaux du languedoc clos des cistes smells of cherry, plum, roast meat and spicy herbs. with surprisingly pronounced iodine, brine and moist stone, as well as distilled stone fruits and deep meat in the mouth, it presents a firm impression of sub-extractunderlying and remarkably fresh fruit for a late bottled wine of its time. at the same time, there is glycerin to give a soothing texture and the toasted spices with pecans and browns introduce a hint of sweetness even if the wine finishes brilliantly shiny. it is a wine that we imagine will remain dynamic, although a greater harmony can emerge during the 3 to 5 years. a bottle that had been opened for a day was more mineral and slightly more economical, but surprisingly underdeveloped.
