"domaine des lambrays is located in the côte de nuits in morey saint-denis. it was bought by the lvmh group in 2014. it owes its name to the famous clos des lambrays grand cru, which it owns in near-monopoly. in addition to clos des lambrays, the estate produces superb morey-saint-denis as well as white wines in puligny-montrachet, bringing the total vineyard area to 11 hectares. the yields are low (28hl/ha), the grapes are harvested by hand, and the wine is aged for 18 months in 50% new oak barrels. the whole range is exceptional. compared to the burgundy elite, the prices remain reasonable. but the reputation of the estate is growing all over the world. clos des lambrays 1984 is full-bodied, concentrated and remarkably elegant, the clos des lambrays displays a rare aromatic complexity: notes of blackberry, blueberry and raspberry then, with age, nuances of undergrowth, truffle, spices, liquorice and violet."
