"it is in the heart of a classified and protected biotope that the clos de la faille nestles, between the vosges mountains and mediterranean vegetation. enclosed and located on the rift zone of the fault, this little paradise covers barely one hectare. in monopoly, this parcel is one of the treasures of the domaine albert mann. the soils, of a breathtaking variety, mix pink vosges sandstone, limestone sandstone, pebbles, and white and pink quartz. a sandy silt, rich in iron oxide, covers the whole. from 12 to 17 months in oak barrels. the pinot noir grand p from the albert mann estate is a wine from the superb grand cru pfersigberg, a micro terroir located in the commune of wettolsheim. it is the most difficult pinot noir to find of the whole range because the plot it owns is tiny. it is also the pinot noir with the greatest ageing potential. philippe mischler, sommelier at mundovin: the pinot noir grand p is a wine that reveals an extraordinary complexity and harmony. its racy, dense structure and silky tannins give it a tasting pleasure that cannot be found anywhere else in alsace. a pinot noir of very high quality which rises to the level of the great burgundies. on the nose, the wine opens with notes of ripe raspberries, blackcurrant and prune jelly. we also discover magnificent notes of black tapenade and empyreumatic touches. the palate expresses itself with a very beautiful intensity from the youth. we discover a caressing matter and a framework perfectly built around nice tannins. the aromas are numerous and complex. the wine will of course gain in complexity with the years!"
