created in 1999, the cosse maisonneuve estate was born from the association of two talented winemakers: matthieu cosse and catherine maisonneuve. matthieu cosse, a graduate of the bordeaux institute of oenology and a former rugby player, has been making wine at château la coste in provence since 2006. catherine maisonneuve, straight from the famous chateau léoville las cases, has a bts in viticulture and oenology. having no local roots, but sensing the great potential of the terroir, they came together to produce great cahors wines. a few years later, the talented duo expanded their estate to 17 hectares, with grape varieties mainly malbec, but also merlot, gamay and cabernet franc. biodynamic viticulture is part of the estate's philosophy, and allows the grapes to perfectly reflect the identity of the cahors terroir. strict principles and a viticulture that respects nature: manual harvesting, small yields, precise and fair vinification.
