"domaine bruno clair: selecting the best plants to enhance the burgundy terroir. in 1979, the grandson of the owner of the famous domaine clair-dau in marsannay created an estate in his name: bruno clair. the ambition is to produce high quality burgundy wines, perfectly reflecting the richness of these terroirs. over the years, the bruno clair estate has expanded, notably by integrating numerous parcels from brothers, sisters and other family members. viticulture remains in the genes of this bruno clair estate, and the master of the estate has never ceased to seek to preserve these terroirs spread over the most prestigious appellations in burgundy. the reasoned work on the soils, carried out to preserve and enhance them, is also coupled with a great deal of attention paid to the selection of the best pinot noir and chardonnay plants in particular. considered the ""golden gate of the côte de nuits"", the marsannay aoc extends over the communes of chenôve, marsannay-la-côte and couchey. although the presence of vines is attested to as early as the 7th century, as is the case throughout the côte, the prestige of the vineyard has been recognised for a very long time. the abbey of bèze, the bishopric of autun, the dukes of burgundy and many others owned vines here. the wines were present on the table of louis xiv or louis xvi... certain climats benefited until the 19th century from a classification equivalent to the current grands crus. wonderful pinot noir from one of the most prestigious producers from burgundy and concretely marsannay, it shows red fruit on the nose and elegant minerality on the palate"
