a family business, the franck bonville champagne house has its origins in 1900 with alfred bonville who, as a visionary, acquired plots of land only a few years after the ravages of phylloxera on the champagne vineyards. the company underwent significant development after 1945 thanks to franck bonville, who developed the pruning of the vineyard and the marketing of the first vintages under his name. the third generation, gilles bonville and his wife, gradually modernised the winemaking tools in 1970. after joining his parents in 1996, olivier bonville pays increased attention to a moment conducted in respect of the environment. winegrowing season the winter and spring of 2016 were very rainy. spring was particularly cool and growth was slow. the high temperatures at the end of summer, from mid-august to mid-september, were welcome and allowed this vintage to mature. "august makes the must." the nose develops fresh aromas of white-fleshed fruits, buttery notes develop quickly and bring additional richness. the palate is tender, the creamy and velvety texture accentuates the buttery sensations. white peach and apricot mingle with more brioche-like notes. the finish is fresh, slightly minty and saline, resolutely côte des blancs.
