located in aÿ, 3 km from épernay, a beautiful mansion houses behind the walls of its 19th century facade one of the most beautiful brands of the montagne de reims vineyard, founded in 1838 by two prussians, william deutz and pierre-hubert geldermann. charm and refinement are not only the game of its architecture; the wines offer the same spirit mixed with virtuosity and refinement, led by fabrice rosset, its general manager since 1996. anchored in the land of pinot noir, deutz produces magnificent champagnes from this grape variety, but also excels in the mastery of chardonnay with remarkable blanc de blancs cuvées. the vineyard covers a little more than 40 hectares, the rest of the supplies come from the best terroirs located in the montagne de reims, the côte des blancs, the marne valley and the épernay region. in 1993, louis roederer acquired a 60% stake in deutz. major investments were then made: extension of the cellars, modernization of the disgorging and packaging lines, with the ambition of increasing the annual production to 1.8 million bottles. a magnificent terroir, perfectly tended vines, a tradition of excellence: the famous "deutz style" is found throughout the range, perpetuated over the years, all in finesse and vinosity. in many ways, deutz is now equal to the greatest vintages. endowed with its own character, it has the righteousness and elegance of the other wines of the family all born in the noble terroirs of the historic champagne region. the cuvée blanc de blancs is made up of 100% chardonnay, from the sublime côte des blancs, which reveals all the qualities of chardonnay, but also from the montagne de reims and the vallée de la marne. the carefully controlled combination of these different terroirs reveals a complex and crystalline champagne. an example of purity, with a mineral nose and hints of dried fruit and brioche.
