"located in epernay, the maison de venoge was created in 1837 by henri-marc de venoge. the cuvée louis xv is the prestige cuvee of the maison de venoge and is only produced in very good years. the wines of the house are today distributed in more than 40 countries only in the selective network: specialised shops, hotels and large-scale restaurants. the chef de cave imposes high quality standards for their production: sourcing from the best vintages, low dosage, use of the only first press and long ageing times. the maison de venoge also has a real treasure: one of the richest wine libraries in champagne. the blanc de noirs de la cuvée princes is a full-bodied, round and structured champagne that will go equally well with fish, white meat (poultry, veal) or a dessert based on dried fruit (hazelnuts, walnuts). made only from pinot noir, it is the result of a marriage of the premiers and grands crus of the montagne de reims (verzy and verzenay) with a selection of plots in the commune of les riceys. its elegant, carafe-shaped appearance alludes to the crystal bottles used by the 20th century aristocracy for decanting. the pale yellow colour is adorned with sumptuous green and silver reflections, announcing a good freshness in the mouth. the nose is richly aromatic. it is very fruity, with aromas of fresh red fruits (blackcurrant) and a nice freshness due to the underlying minerality. the palate is characterised by an elegant vinosity which does not alter its greedy brilliance."
