the first champagne house founded in 1729, ruinart is an essential reference. the historic champagne house ruinart owes its birth to the visionary and precursor monk dom thierry ruinart. a scholar of his time, dom thierry ruinart was quick to measure the enthusiasm of the nobility for this sparkling wine that was not yet called champagne. 20 years after his death, his intuition will be at the origin of the founding act of the house of champagne ruinart written on september 1st, 1729 (still preserved to this day) by his nephew, nicolas ruinart. located in the heart of reims, the ruinart house watches over a treasure. unique, monuments of history and architectural prowess, the ruinart chalk pits have been classified as a historic site since 1931 and included on unesco's world heritage list since july 2015. nearly 40 meters underground, in the darkness and coolness of the cathedral-like cellars, the precious bottles wait to be brought to light. elegance, style and timelessness define the dna of the ruinart champagne house, one of the most appreciated brands in france, embodying the excellence of the french art of living in the four corners of the world.
