"founded in 1584, gosset is the oldest wine house in the champagne region. production remained fairly low-key until 1994, when it was sold to the renaud-cointreau family group. the takeover increased the level of investment, improved vineyard management and doubled gosset's annual production to almost one million bottles in just fourteen years. owning only a few vineyards, gosset buys almost all the grapes needed for its production. after sixteen generations in the famous village of aÿ, the winery only recently moved to a new, larger plot in épernay. gosset's grand millésime 2015 is a fresh and tart champagne, characterised by fruity and pastry-like aromas. it is a cuvée particularly suited to the aperitif. this grand millésime 2015 gosset is a blend of pinot noir (59%) and chardonnay, grapes from the finest terroirs in the region. the year 2015 perfectly reflects the continental trend of the decade with a mild and wet winter and a hot and dry summer. the ripening, thanks to a cool late summer, will give birth to juicy, ripe and concentrated grapes, a spectacular vintage. gosset's grand millésime 2015 was cellared in may 2016, disgorged in november 2021 and dosed at 4 g/l (extra brut). it is a cuvée which, to the eye, is adorned with a crystalline, luminous and golden colour. its bubbles are fine and lively. on the nose, we discover a fresh and acidulous champagne, as greedy as it is elegant, with notes of pastry, fresh fruit (candied orange, mirabelle plum, pear...), nougat and frangipane. on the palate, it is a wine with a frank attack, followed by slightly acidic notes, nuanced with fruity aromas: nectarine and yellow peach."
