the “bousseys” are a large family of winegrowers based in monthelie. they operate 6 ha spread over 8 villages which are among the most famous on the côte de beaune: monthelie, meursault, volnay, saint-romain, auxey-dusresses, santenay, puligny-montrachet and pommard. eric, grandson and son of a winegrower, created his estate in 1981. it spanned different appellations: monthelie, meursault, volnay, pommard. the wines are vinified traditionally and aged in oak barrels. three activities to do in burgundy-franche-comté: 1.visit the hospices de beaune: this historic site is a must in the region. it is a former medieval hospital which now houses a museum. there you can admire the impressive architecture, flemish tapestries and collection of pewter tableware. 2.hiking in the jura: the jura massif is a paradise for nature lovers. there you will find hiking trails for all levels, as well as spectacular landscapes. you can also enjoy many outdoor activities, such as mountain biking, climbing and paragliding. 3. attend a sound and light show at the royal saltworks of arc-et-senans: this unesco world heritage site is a former salt extraction site. today, it houses a cultural center where sound and light shows take place. it is a unique and unforgettable experience.
