located east of tours, almost in front of vouvray, between the left bank of the loire and the right bank of the cher, the vineyard of montlouis rests on a limestone plateau, the "tuffeau de touraine", on which rest clay-siliceous or clay-limestone soils. production is divided between still wines (dry, semi-dry or mellow depending on the year and, above all, sunshine) and sparkling wines (25% of production). when the conditions of sunshine allow it, the terroir of montlouis produces mellow wines, from harvests harvested by successive tris. the soft montlouis have very rich aromas of verbena, bergamot and a touch of almond. with age, they evolve towards creamy notes of honey and quince jelly.
