GREAT SWEET WINES OLD VINTAGES CHATEAU DES COULINATS
The "Château" is located in Aquitaine, southeast of Bordeaux. The family estate, Château des Coulinats, covers 6 hectares in Sainte-Croix-du-Mont and 6 more in Gabarnac. It has been in the Brun family for six generations. There are different grape varieties, such as le Sauvignon, le Semillon and le Mascadelle. Sweet wine is still the specialty of the domaine, but we also find some red wine. In the sweet wine, we find the Sainte-Croix wine but also the Cadillac wine. This appellation includes several hillsides such as Gabarnac and Monprinblanc. The oldest vintage dates from 1959.
Now this family house is vinified by the son Thomas Meilhan who works in parallel for the properties of Chateau Guiraud (1st grand cru class). They continue to make sweet wines with great complexity and aging potential.
