Bodegas Muga : Famous Family of the Rioja

Bodegas Muga was founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga Martínez, who came from a family with a strong winemaking tradition, after obtaining the bottling registration that same year.

Bodegas Muga was originally located in the centre of Haro. When the founder died in 1969, his children Manuel, Isabel and Isaac took over the winery, before moving the headquarters to the current premises in the traditional Barrio de la Estación in 1971.

Bodegas Muga has grown over the years, but it has never lost its essence or the family spirit that characterises it.
The finesse and high quality of its wines are recognised and prestigious in the most demanding national and international markets.

Once the grapes are in the cellar, they are destemmed: the stems are separated from the fruit for fermentation in oak vats with a capacity of 18,000 litres. The must is fermented for 10 days with its skins and natural yeasts. From this comes the wine with its characteristic colour and aromas.
