Why is The Macallan 72 Years Old in Lalique so exceptional ?
The Macallan presents The Macallan 72 Years Old in Lalique - The Genesis Decanter, an exceptional whisky offered in a new limited edition to celebrate the new distillery with its visit centre The Macallan. Genesis Decanter is the oldest whisky ever marketed by the distillery to celebrate a historic moment at The Macallan House.
Presented in a crystal carafe specially created by Lalique for him, it pays tribute to the collaboration between masters in the fields of whisky distillation, crystalware, architecture, construction and craftsmanship, thus marking a new chapter in the history of The Macallan. Combining modern techniques and traditional know-how, each carafe is handcrafted by master craftsmen.
Distilled in the 1940s, Macallan 72 Years is an unparalleled spirit that began its journey to maturation in the optimistic period following the Second World War. Reminiscent of a bygone era, it presents an exquisite balance between a strong, soft oak and a peaty spirit that shapes its refined character. Whisky surprises and delights with fruit aromas followed by distinctive peaty notes, to the back of the mouth where it ends with a persistent hint of rich fruit and oak.
The Macallan 72 Years Old single malt whisky has been on the world market since 2018 in a limited edition of only 600 decanters of 70 cl.
