The AOC Château-Chalon extends over four communes of the Jura department: Château-Chalon, Domblans, Menetru-le-Vignoble, Nevy-sur-Seille.
The vineyard of Château-Chalon is spread over 50 hectares and rests on deep lias blue marls covered with limestone scree. The vines are often planted on steep slopes protected by limestone cliffs. The climate is semi-continental with marked seasons and harsh winters.
The Château-Chalon wine is exclusively a yellow wine made from the Savagnin grape variety alone. The Château-Chalon appellation produces wines of excellence, very rich and powerful, golden in color, wines that can be kept for many centuries. The exceptional vintage of Château-Chalon offered by the Domaine Jean Macle perfectly asserts the reputation of the appellation.
