The AOC Chinon is located 40km south-east of Tours, so it belongs to the Touraine sub-region.
The climate, oceanic in the west, has a strong continental influence in the east. 112,000 hectoliters of juice per year are produced on 2,350 hectares of vineyard backed by the cliff bordering the Vienne River. Close to the Loire River, on slopes that are sometimes very steep, the soils have characteristics that have repercussions on the type of wines.
The production of white wine (chenin) is rather confidential since it represents only 1%. Gravel wines reveal all their finesse and delicacy as they age, because when young, they are dominated by their fruit. Tufa wines take advantage of the tufa soils to develop an exceptional personality. These wines age beautifully.
