The Menetou-Salon vineyard is a vineyard of the Loire located north-east of Bourges. It takes root in a soil composed of limestone sediments. Classified AOC, it includes the communes of Aubinges, Humbligny, Menetou-Salon, Morogues, Parassy, Pigny, Quantilly, Saint-Céols, Soulangis and Vignoux-sous-les-Aix. The Menetou-Salon vineyard offers white wines from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety with a total annual production of 26,000 hectoliters.
The harvest of se Menetou-Salon takes place, depending on the vintage, between the last week of September and the second half of October. In the vineyards of the Centre-Loire, 80% of the harvest is done mechanically, which has led to the modernization of the harvest reception cellars in order to work as quickly as possible between harvesting and pressing. Of course, manual harvesting is still in use. The Menetou-Salon appellation is particularly interesting when it is represented by domains of the quality of Domaine Henry Pellé.
