The local wine of the Bouches-du-Rhône can be produced as white wine. This vineyard, straddling the Rhone and Provence, is not very well known and yet excellent wines are produced here such as the very famous Domaine de Trévallon.
The local wine of the Bouches du Rhône white, when well made, can reach very high levels. The robe is yellow with green reflections, it is limpid and brilliant. On the nose it is a delight, the Marsanne and Roussanne grape varieties bring an extraordinary aromatic bouquet like apricot, lime tree, with a lot of freshness. As it evolves, it will tend towards honeyed and brioche notes when the winegrowers add chardonnay to the cuvée, a flurry of floral aromas follows. On the palate it is a dense, fat and fresh wine, with a beautiful substance, very well structured and balanced. It can be kept for a long time if it is well elaborated.
