The Côtes du Roussillon vineyard stretches between the Corbières massif and the Pyrenees over more than 5,600 hectares spread over 118 communes in the Pyrénées-Orientales. Among this appellation, 32 communes can benefit from the appellation Côtes du Roussillon Villages.communes of Latour de France, Cassagnes, Montner, Estagel and Planèzes.
The vineyards of Côtes du Roussillon and Côtes du Roussillon Villages occupy geologically very diverse soils and subsoils in five large areas: the Agly valley, the Têt valley, the Tech valley and the Salanque plain, on the Mediterranean coast.
Production is around 175,000 hectoliters per year, of which 4% are white wines made from the traditional grape varieties of Roussillon (Grenache noir et blanc, Carignan, Lladoner Pelut, Cinsault, Macabeu, Malvoisie du Roussillon) and more recently introduced aromatic varieties (Syrah, Mourvèdre, Roussanne, Marsanne, Vermentino). The white wines are fine and delicate with notes of citrus fruits, white flesh fruits and floral scents. In order to best discover these blends, we will distinguish more particularly the wines proposed by the Domaine Sarda-Malet.
