Etna Bianco Superiore is grown in the Milo commune in the Catania province, and is produced from the same grapes as the "regular" Etna Bianco, namely Carricante, Catarratto Bianco Commune or Catarratto Lucido , with the addition of Trebbiano and Minella Bianca. Carricante will often be the dominating grape in this variety.
The Superiore variety has a higher alcohol concentration than its little brother and is a slightly darker straw yellow white wine with flecks of green. The aroma is delicately fruity, the taste light, fresh, soft and harmonious. All in all a fresh wine with an aroma of apples, pears, citrus and flowers. A light, mild wine that is well-suited to fish and shellfish, but is used locally for the whole meal.
